Finger Painting

Almost a year has passed since I first bought the bellows, adapters and lenses required for close up photography and I had a sudden pang of inspiration/urgency with wanting to do something with them.

The worst part of transitioning from doing something for a job, to trying to do it for fun again is finding inspiration. In the past, I did work because I had to so finding things I actually want to photograph can be more difficult than taking the images themselves.

I decided, I’d just stick my left hand under the lens and see what comes of it. What’s the worst that can happen, eh?

To highlight the textures of my skin, I opted for black and white (with a slight war tint) and harsh lighting from the sides. So here’s how they turned out:
